RSGx are excited to announce that we have been awarded a Contract for the Construction of the new Cloudbreak West and Christmas Creek West Greenfields 33 / 220 kV GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) Substations and associated works. In addition to new builds, there will also be the enabling and expansion brownfields works in substations located at Lambda, Solomon, North Star and North Star Junction as part of Fortescue’s decarbonisation program.
The Projects are located in the Western Hamersley Ranges in Western Australia and are an integral part of Stage 2 (Powerline Construction) and the overall Fortescue Decarbonisation Program.
The scope of work includes:
- Detailed civil earthworks and concrete foundations.
- Fabrication, onsite Construction and fit out of positive air pressured indoor GIS rooms.
- HVAC Installation and commissioning.
- Site security, access controls and Fire Indication systems.
- 220kV GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) installations.
- Installation and electrical connection of 33kV positive air pressured switch and control rooms.
- Standby generator.
- 2 x 33 kV/ 415V Auxiliary Transformer.
- 33 kV Earthing Transformer.
- 220kV aerial stringing.
- Construction verification of all installations.
