About the Role
RSGx seeks experienced and detail-oriented High Voltage Technicians to join our team in Western Australia. This role offers a FIFO roster, providing an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile renewable energy and transmission projects. You will play a critical role in the commissioning and testing of high-voltage (HV) substations and associated systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Commission High Voltage Switchyards, including Site Acceptance Testing.
- Commission Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS).
- Perform VLF, Tan Delta, and partial discharge testing of HV cables.
- Test and commission primary electrical equipment, including:
- Circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, HV/LV switchboards, transformers, and HV busbars.
- Relay testing and secondary injection testing across various relay manufacturers and models.
- Commissioning both transmission assets (220kV) and distribution assets (11kV, 22kV, 33kV).
- Commissioning high-voltage motors and drive systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
Mandatory:
- WA A Grade Electrical License.
- High Voltage Switching Certificate.
- Current CPR/LVR and First Aid Certificate.
- Valid Driver’s License (minimum C Class).
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Advanced Diploma of Engineering.
- Working at Heights certification or willingness to obtain.
- Proven experience with Omicron test units.
